KRYLEX® primers, activators, accelerators and cleaners have been formulated to be environmentally friendly.  Our range of products are designed specifically to optimize the performance of our adhesives and sealants in difficult applications such as bonding low surface energy plastics or sealing plated or inactive metals.

CYANOACRYLATES – Primers and Activators

Large gaps or acidic surfaces such as paper or leather reduce the cure speed of cyanoacrylates.  KRYLEX® activators for cyanoacrylate adhesives enhance cure speeds on these substrates to ensure that instant adhesives maintain their fast fixture times.  Used in post assembly applications, our cyanoacrylate activators permit “fillet” or “squeeze out” curing via overspraying of the bond-line.  Additionally, cyanoacrylates are well known for their exceptional adhesion to almost every substrate.  However, some low surface energy plastics such as polyethylene, polypropylene and PTFE may require the use of a primer.  KRYLEX® cyanoacrylate primers are formulated to increase adhesion on these difficult to bond substrates and have consistently shown improvements in adhesion performance of our cyanoacrylates – usually to the point of substrate failure.


KRYLEX® anaerobic primers have been designed to accelerate the cure speed of anaerobic threadlockers, retaining compounds, thread sealants and gasket makers.  Active metals such as iron, copper, brass, plain steel and commercial aluminum have plenty of metal ions available to react with our anaerobic adhesives and initiate curing.  Inactive metals such as plated metals, anodize aluminum, stainless or galvanized steel or zinc benefit from the addition of metal ions prior to use of an anaerobic adhesive.  When assembling two inactive metal parts, simply apply a small amount of KRYLEX® anaerobic primer to one part, allow for the solvent to flash off and then apply the adhesive to the unprimed part.

  • Threadlockers – prevent vibration and loosening and seal against leakage and corrosion. One bottle of KRYLEX® threadlocker takes the place of a wide variety of traditional vibration proofing methods, reducing cost and increasing performance.
  • Thread Sealing – designed for thread and pipe sealing, replacing traditional PTFE tapes and dopes. Products instantly seal and will not shred, evaporate or shrink.  KRYLEX® sealants resist pressure, vibration and temperature cycling as well as hydraulic fluids, oil, fuel and lubricants.
  • Gasket Makers – create formed in place gaskets on flanges and housings, eliminating the need for large inventories of pre-cut gaskets. Once cured, KRYLEX® gasket makers key into the adjacent faces of the joint and will not relax or shrink and have exceptional pressure and solvent resistance.
  • Retaining Compounds – used in the assembly of all coaxial components such as bearings, gears, shafts, bushes, pulleys, cylinder liners and rotors. They increase the load bearing characteristics of cylindrical joints, reducing assembly stresses and assembly costs.
